Scenes from famous Operas performed by students from USA!

Hello to everyone!

Radamisto, "O cedere o perir", G.F. Handel

I've got through two amazing nights in the unique ambience
of “Cortile del Comune” in my town Arezzo. Everything has been managed by the Oberlin Conservatory of Music (USA).

Students coming from different parts of the United States of America, have spent five weeks studying opera and making progress in Italian language which could be useful,in order to relate themselves to some of the most important composers of Italian opera.

After the first concert, I spent some time with some of the students and I honestly appreciate that their pronunciation of Italian words was pretty good! The director Kevin Class has decided to mix up two genres, drama and comedy. It's been a pleasure to listen to every singer who has shown us what means being an artist.

You should be able to express and share emotions with audience. You have to be an open mind. You have to be able to play a role out of your “comfort zone”. Students have been able to play drama and comedy very spontaneously.

I enjoyed very much listening to great voices. I'd like to add that, students showed a natural attitude to perform on stage.
At last, I was thinking about parents who made a long trip from the United States to be part of the audience and support their sons and daughters. All of them should have made lots of sacrifices to try to realize their dreams and inspirations.
I wish to all of you, all the best for your future career!

Have a nice time,
Alessandro.
